Gail M. Ross New President-ElectATLANTA, GA -- Robert F. Conger, principal, Tillinghast-Towers Perrin, Atlanta, GA, was elected president of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) at the organization's annual meeting here.
He succeeds Patrick J. Grannan, principal and consulting actuary, Milliman & Robertson, Inc., Radnor, PA.
Gail M. Ross, vice president, Am-Re Consultants, Inc., Princeton, NJ, was named president-elect.
Conger joined Tillinghast-Towers Perrin in 1986 and serves as a consultant to property/casualty insurance companies on a wide range of issues, including financial, operational and strategic, focusing on workers compensation. Previously he worked at the Massachusetts Rating Bureaus and served as an actuary at American Mutual Liability Insurance Companies.
He received his bachelors degree in economics and mathematics from Amherst College. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, past-president of the Casualty Actuaries of the Southeast and past-president of Casualty Actuaries of New England.
Ross joined Am-Re Consultants, Inc. in 1995 and serves as the leader of the Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) practice. In addition to M&A valuation and due diligence assignments involving property/casualty insurers and reinsurers worldwide, she also performs pricing, reserving and dynamic financial analyses. Prior to joining Am-Re Consultants, she worked for Tillinghast-Towers Perrin for ten years where she was a principal. She began her career as an actuary with Travelers Insurance Company.
She received her bachelors degree in mathematics from the University of Illinois and her masters degree in mathematics from the University of Miami. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, has served as chair of the CAS Syllabus Committee and as a member of various other CAS committees.
The Casualty Actuarial Society is an organization dedicated to the advancement of the body of knowledge of actuarial science applied to property, casualty and similar risk exposures.
